The West System Colloidal Silica 406 is a general, thickening filler for bonding, filleting and filling joints. With the quartz flour, the dripping of the resin on vertical or overhead surfaces can be avoided and the viscosity of the resin can be controlled. In addition, this filler is often used with other fillers to achieve the desired processing characteristics of an epoxy resin mixture as to improve the consistency of the filler.
