The skimming blocker protects bank and credit cards, identity cards and passports against data theft with its electromagnetic-based e-field technology. For cards with wireless RFID technology for contactless identification and payment, the risk of fraud increases significantly. In order to be able to protect cards against this, the skimming blocker, which is equipped with a chip, is used. The chip prevents the access of a skimming device to the cards in read distance and sends out a passive interference signal in the form of a magnetic overlay. The energy is given to the blocker from the reader. The interfering signal has a range of a few centimeters in order to achieve desired functions, e.g. on a card scanner does not affect a cash register.
