The one thing I disliked about Ring's compact and helpful Smart Steplights was the need for all those batteries. So I was very excited to see them release a new version with a tiny, built-in solar panel that keeps the built-in battery charged. And if you want to use them in dark spots, without direct sun exposure, that battery can be recharged with the included micro USB cable. That means you can tuck these weather-resistant lights pretty much anywhere you need a little illumination. Each light has a built-in motion sensor, so as you approach your walkway, steps, or porch, it lights your way. And if you connect it to your Ring ecosystem using the Ring Smart Lighting Bridge (sold separately), it can do more than shine a light. When someone enters the motion zone, it will not only light up the area, but it will also send a notification to your phone to let you know.
