Description

This handcrafted iron water pot is modeled after the antique pots used over 100-years ago in India. These functioned as a carrying bucket to fetch well and river water. Its wide, detachable handle was used with a manual rope pulley system to lower, collect and pull up fresh water from the well or river. Once the water gatherer returned home, these pots were secured to a bar over a fire to boil the water for cooking and tea. The rounded shape of this antique pot was useful when tipping the pot to pour water into bowls and cups.Solid iron pot crafted after pots welded over 100-years ago in India by artisans used to fetch well waterTexture and finish replicates heavy usage, solid iron body has a warm brown hue and detachable handleRound pot used as a water bucket measures 7 in. x 7 in. x 7 in. and weighs 1.5 lbs.Detachable handleInspired water buckets from 100-years agoReturn Policy
