FOCAL Active studio monitor

The Focal SM9 offers two monitoring speakers in only one cabinet: a 3-way and a 2-way monitor. The a 3-way monitor (Beryllium tweeter + 6.5-inch woofer + 8-inchsubwoofer + 11-inch passive radiator) offers a frequency response from 30Hz to 40kHz for total control of the audio signal. The SM9’s 2-way monitor (Beryllium tweeter + 6.5-inch woofer) offers a frequency response from 90Hz to 40kHz, which provides the user the option to check mix transfer quality on systems with limited low-end frequency, such as TV sets, computers, cars, iPod docks or any multimedia system. It also provides monitoring of the midrange register. The SM9’s pure Beryllium dome is capable of covering 5 full octaves from 1,000 to 40,000Hz, while its “W” cone process (Glass/Foam/Glass) provides a true optimization of the frequency response by fine tuning of mass, rigidity and damping parameters. • Freq Response: 3-way mode 30Hz – 40kHz (+/- 3dB), 40Hz – 20kHz (+/- 1dB); 2-way mode (Focus) 90Hz – 20kHz (+/- 3dB) • Maximum SPL: 3-way mode ...
