1.4 Configuring the SIP settings on the ZyXEL handset
Below you will find SIP settings to use when the Internet Gate acts as the SIP server. If you
wish to register on an operator’s SIP server, please refer to your operator’s specific SIP
settings.
1. From the main menu, select 5. SIP Settings.
2. Select 1. Registrar
3. Select 1. Registrar IP and enter the external IP address (e.g.
64.238.219.235) or the domain (e.g. smartcompany.com

) on your Internet
Gate.
4. Press upper right button to go back to the SIP settings main menu.
5. Select 3. Proxy Server.
6. Select 1. Proxy IP and enter the proxy address, which is the same as the registrar
address (step 3 above).
7. Press upper right button to go back to the SIP settings main menu.
8. Select 4. User Account.
9. Select 1. Phone Number and enter your SIP contact name or number, e.g.
mike (for mike@smartcompany.com) or 12345 (for
1234@smartcompany.com).
10. Select 2. Username and enter your authorization name (e.g. mike).
11. Select 3. User Pwd and enter your authorization password.
12. Press upper right button three times to confirm your settings and to exit the menu.
13. The phone will restart, try to get an IP address using DHCP and to register on the
SIP server. After this procedure you should see a fixed network icon in the upper left
corner and the message “Registered”:

2.1 Determine the MAC address of your ZyXEL handset
If you would like to limit the access to the Internet Gate wireless network using MAC
addresses, here is a way to determine the MAC address on your ZyXEL handset.
1. From the main window, press the upper left button for Menu.
2. Select 1. Information
3. Select 3. MAC Address
4. Note the displayed MAC address, e.g. 00032a0040ed.
