LAN
8.1 Ove rvie w
This chapter describes how to configure LAN settings.
A Local Area Network (LAN) is a shared communication system to which many computers are
attached. A LAN is a computer network limited to the immediate area, usually the same building or floor
of a building. The LAN screens can help you configure a LAN DHCP server, manage IP addresses, and
partition your physical network into logical networks.

8.2 Wha t You Ne e d To Know
The actual physical connection determines whether the NBG-418N v2 ports are LAN or WAN ports. There
are two separate IP networks, one inside the LAN network and the other outside the WAN network as
shown next.
