6.5 MAC Filte r
The MAC filter screen allows you to configure the NBG-418N v2 to give exclusive access to up to 16
devices (Allow) or exclude up to 16 devices from accessing the NBG-418N v2 (Deny). Every Ethernet
device has a unique MAC (Media Access Control) address. The MAC address is assigned at the factory
and consists of six pairs of hexadecimal characters, for example, 00:A0:C5:00:00:02. You need to know
the MAC address of the devices to configure this screen.
To change your NBG-418N v2’s MAC filter settings, click Ne twork > Wire le ss LAN > MAC Filte r. The screen
appears as shown.

The following table describes the labels in this menu.
Apply Click Apply to save your changes back to the NBG-418N v2.
Reset Click Re se t to reload the previous configuration for this screen.

Active Click Ac tive check box to enable MAC address filtering.
MAC Address
(White List)
This field shows the MAC addresses of the wireless station that are allowed or denied access to
the NBG-418N v2 in these address fields. Enter the MAC addresses in a valid MAC address format,
that is, six hexadecimal character pairs, for example, 12:34:56:78:9a:bc.
Select Click the Se le c t radio button to select a MAC filter entry.
Delete Click the De le te button to delete the selected MAC filter entry.
Delete All Click the Dele te All button to remove all MAC filter entries.
MAC Address Enter the MAC a ddre sse s of the wireless station that are allowed or denied access to the NBG-
418N v2 in these address fields. Enter the MAC addresses in a valid MAC address format, that is, six
hexadecimal character pairs, for example, 12:34:56:78:9a:bc.
Add Click Add to add a new MAC address to the MAC Filtering rule.
Apply Click Apply to save your changes back to the NBG-418N v2.
Reset Click Re se t to reload the previous configuration for this screen.
