Ba ndwidth MGMT
17.1 Ove rvie w
Bandwidth management provides a convenient way to manage the use of various services on the
network. It manages general protocols (for example, HTTP and FTP) and applies traffic prioritization to
enhance the performance of delay-sensitive applications like voice and video.
17.2 Wha t You Ca n Do
• Use the Bandwidth MGMT screen to enable this feature in the NBG-418N v2.
• Use the Adva nc e screen to configure the QoS (Quality of Service) rule on the NBG-418N v2.
17.3 Wha t You Ne e d To Know
The sum of the bandwidth allotments that apply to the WAN interface (LAN to WAN, WLAN to WAN)
must be less than or equal to the Upstre a m Bandwidth that you configure in the Ba ndwidth
Ma na g e me nt Adva nc e d screen.
The sum of the bandwidth allotments that apply to the LAN interface (WAN to LAN, WAN to WLAN) must
be less than or equal to the Downstre a m Ba ndwidth that you configure in the Bandwidth Ma nag e me nt
Adva nc e d screen.
