The following table describes t he labels in this screen.
8.3.6.1 S.M.A.R.T
Use t he S.M .A.R.T screens t o view hard disk healt h indicators. Self Monit oring, Analysis, and
Report ing Technology ( S.M.A.R.T) detect s and report s t he reliability of hard disks using standard
indicat ors (called “att ributes” ) , t o help you anticipat e possible disk failures.
Note: The available S.M.A.R.T inform at ion varies from one hard disk vendor t o another.
From t he I nt ernal St or age > H a rd D isk screen, select a disk and click S.M .A.R.T t o open t he
screen as shown.

LABEL DESCRIPTION
St atus This field shows t he stat us of an inst alled hard disk.
Norm al: A green circle displays. This r epresent s t he volum e is funct ioning norm ally.
Cra sh ed: A red circle displays. This represent s t he volum e is down.
Disk Nam e This field shows t he nam e of t he hard disk.
Used by This field shows t he nam e of a volum e or disk gr oup built on the hard disk if any. This field
also displays t he RAI D t ype t he volum e or disk group is using.
Size This field shows t he t otal size of the hard disk.
Model Nam e This field shows t he m odel of t he hard disk.
Tem perature This field shows the t em peratur e of the hard disk in degrees celsius (
o
C) and fahrenheit (
o
F) .
