LABEL DESCRIPTION
Choose an Action
Create Volum e on Select Ex isting on disk gr oup and a disk group from t he drop- down list box t o
create a volum e on t he disk group. This opt ion is available only w hen t here is an
existing disk group available.
Select N ew disk gr oup t o cr eat e a disk group and then a v olum e on the disk
group.
The following fields describe t he labels on t he follow ing screens if you select Existin g on disk gr ou p on the

St ep 1. Create Volum e
Disk group inform ation
Nam e This field displays t he nam e of t he disk group.
Unallocated capacit y This field displays the percentage of the available size, the size in use, and t otal
size of t he disk group.
Create Volum e
Volum e Nam e This field displays the default nam e of t he volum e. You can also type a new nam e
for t he volum e.
Allocated Volum e Size This field displays the num ber of Gigabyt es available on t he volum e by default .
You can change t he size t o allocate t o t his volum e. Click MAX to allocat e all
available size of the disk group t o t he volum e.
Back Click Back t o go t o t he previous st ep.
Next Click N ex t to go t o the next step.
Cancel Click Cancel to close the screen w ithout saving any set tings.
St ep 2. Sum m ery
Volum e Type This field displays the type of t he volum e, Mu lt iple volum e s on RAI D ( Disk
Grou p X) where Disk Group X is t he disk gr oup’s nam e.
Volum e Nam e This field displays t he nam e of t he volum e.
Volum e Capacit y This field displays t he size of t he volum e.
Back Click Back t o go t o t he previous screen.
Next Click N ex t to go t o t he next step.
Cancel Click Cancel t o close the screen w it hout saving any set tings.

St ep 1. Select Disks and RAI D Type
Select disks This section list s all available hard disks in t he t able and displays t he disk trays
they are currently installed on the graphic at the right.
Select one or m ore hard disks where you want t o create a volum e. Use t he check
box on t he t op t o select or unselect all ent ries in this colum n.
Disk Nam e This field shows t he nam e of t he hard disk.
Size This field shows t he t ot al disk size.
Model Nam e This field shows t he m odel of the hard disk.
