Users
22.1 Overview
This chapter int roduces t he Use r s screens of the NAS. Use t he Use rs screens t o creat e and
m anage adm inistrat or and user account s.
Adm inistrat ors can:
• Configure and m anage the NAS.
• Creat e volum es, shares, and user account s.
• Assign individual users specific access right s for specific shares.
Users are people who have access right s t o t he NAS and can store files t here for lat er ret rieval. A
user can:
• Manage shares t hat he owns.
• Change his own password.
• Access t he cont ents of ot her shares t o which he is given access rights.
22.2 What You Can Do
• Use the main Use rs screen (
Section 22.3 on page 281) t o display a list of user account s created
on the NAS.
• Use the Add User screen (Sect ion 22.3.2 on page 283) t o creat e new user account s.
• Use the Edit User screen (
Section 22.3.2 on page 283) t o edit the propert ies of an exist ing
account .
• Use the User I nfo screen ( Section 22.4 on page 285) t o display t he am ount of volum e space
used by a selected account and t he account ’s m em bership in any groups.

Click Shar ing > Use rs t o display t he screen shown next .
Use t his screen to create and m anage account s for users who can store files on t he NAS.
