17.7.4 Edit IP Filter
Use t his screen to enable or disable I P filt ering for P2P downloads. I P filtering blocks I P addresses
known to share fake files. You can eit her get an I P filt er table from a website or use your own t able.
Click Edit I P Filt er in t he Applica t ions > D ow nload Service > Pr efe re nces > P2 P dow nload
screen.

Keep Sharing While Wit h P2P download, t he NAS st art s sharing a file while you are downloading it. Set how
long t o cont inue sharing a file aft er t he NAS finishes t he download.
Select Upload/ Dow n loa d Ra tio t o keep sharing a file unt il t he NAS has uploaded a
specific percent com pared t o t he download.
Select See ding Tim e t o keep sharing a file for a specific num ber of m inutes aft er t he
download finishes.
Cont inuing t o share a file helps ot her P2P download users finish downloading it . Sharing
out at least as m uch as you download helps keep you in good standing in t he P2P
download com m unity.
Ent er -1 to share a file indefinit ely. Leave bot h check boxes blank to have t he NAS stop
sharing t he file as soon as t he download finishes.
I f you select bot h opt ions, t he NAS keeps sharing a file unt il both conditions exceed t he
values you configure. For exam ple, you entered 150% in the Uploa d/ Dow nloa d Ra tio
field and 120 m inutes in t he Se eding Tim e field. The NAS keeps sharing a file unt il it
has shared 1.5 tim es t he size of t he file and has passed 120 m inut es.
Email notificat ions Select whether or not t o send em ails t o t he em ail address configured for em ailing log
repor ts ( see
Sect ion 26.4.2 on page 308) when the NAS start s downloading t he file,
seeding the file, and/ or finishes downloading t he file.
Edit I P Filt er Click this t o enable or disable I P filtering for P2P downloads.

Apply Click this t o save your changes.
Reset Click this to rest ore your previously saved set tings.
Cancel Click t his t o return t o t he previous screen without saving.
