The following table describes t he labels in this screen.

LABEL DESCRIPTION
Enable Dy DNS Select t his t o use dynam ic DNS.
You need t o have registered a dynam ic DNS account wit h a service provider such as
www.dyndns.org. The Dynam ic DNS service provider w ill give you a password or key.
Service Provider Select your Dynam ic DNS service provider.
Hostnam e Ent er your host nam e provided by t he Dynam ic DNS serv ice.
Usernam e Ent er your user nam e for your DNS account.
Passw ord Ent er the password assigned t o your DNS account .
St atus This shows t he DyDNS updat e result :
Disable d – You have m anually disabled the DyDNS feature.
Er ror – An unrecoverable error ( such as aut hentication error) occur red caused t he NAS
to disable t he DyDNS feature autom at ically.
Fail t o updat e – A recoverable error (such as a tem porary I nt ernet disconnect )
occurred. The NAS will ret ry later.
Updat ed - The NAS updated t he DyDNS server with the NAS’s public I P address.
Default Gat eway This shows wit h which public I P of interface t he NAS updat ed t he DyDNS server.
Ext ernal Address This shows t he I P address of t he NAS t hat can be accessed in the Wide Ar ea Net work
(WAN) . Note t hat t his is not assigned by the DyDNS server.
Apply Click this t o save your changes.
Reset Click this t o clear the fields.
