The following table describes t he labels in this screen.

St atus Display dat a t ransm ission rate and transmission sy stem .
I nterface Display t he int erface nam e.
I P Set tings Display t he I P set tings ( aut omat ically or m anually) of an interface.
I P Address Display t he I P address of an int erface.
Subnet Mask Display t he subnet m ask of an interface.
Creat e Click it t o open the following screen t o set up a port tr unking.

Aut om atically Select t his option to have t he int er face get I P address inform at ion autom at ically.
I f no I P address inform ation is assigned, t he NAS uses Aut o-I P to assign it self an I P
address and subnet m ask. For exam ple, y ou could connect t he NAS directly to your
com puter. I f t he comput er is also set t o get an I P address aut om at ically, the com put er
and t he NAS will choose addresses for t hem selves and be able to com municat e.
Manually Select this opt ion for the int erface to use fixed TCP/ I P inform at ion. You m ust fill in the
following fields.
I P Addr e ss - Ty pe an I P address in t his field.
Subne t M ask - Type an I P subnet m ask in t his field.
De fa ult Ga te w ay - Type a default gat eway address in this field.
Creat e Click this t o save t he set tings and create a port tr unk.
Cancel Click this t o return t o t he previous screen wit hout saving.
Edit Click this t o m odify t he I Pv4 or I Pv6 sett ings of LAN 1 and LAN 2.

I Pv4 Set tings Click t his to configure the following I Pv4 set tings.
Aut om at ically - Select t his opt ion to have t he int erface get I P address inform at ion
aut om at ically.
Ma nua lly - Select t his option for the interface t o use fixed TCP/ I P inform at ion.
• I P Addr ess - Ty pe an I P address in t his field.
• Subne t M ask - Type an I P subnet m ask in t his field.
• De fa ult Ga te w ay - Type a default gat eway address in this field.
I Pv6 Set tings Click t his to configure the following I Pv6 set tings.
Mode -
• Select Aut o t o have t he Device use the I Pv6 prefix fr om the connect ed rout er ’s
Rout er Advert isem ent ( RA) to generat e an I Pv6 address.
• Select M an ua l if you have a fixed I Pv 6 address assigned by your I SP.
• Select D isable to not assign any I Pv6 address for the NAS.
Addre ss - Ent er t he I Pv6 address assigned by y our I SP.
Subn et pre fix len gt h - Enter the address prefix length to specify how m any m ost
significant bit s in an I Pv6 address com pose t he net work address. The range is 0 to 128
De fa ult Ga te w ay - Enter t he I P address of the next- hop gateway. The gateway is a
router or swit ch on t he sam e segm ent as your Device's interface( s) . The gat eway helps
forward packet s t o t heir dest inat ions.
Apply Click this to save your TCP/ I P configurations. Aft er you click Apply, t he NAS restart s.
Wait unt il you see the Login screen or until the NAS fully boots and t hen use the NAS
St ar ter Ut ility t o rediscover it .
