Troubleshooting Problems and Suggested Solutions Problem Suggested Solution Problem Suggested Solution Cannot establish the Wi-Fi connection between your device and mobile hotspot. • Refresh network list and select the correct SSID. • Check the IP address to make sure your mobile hotspot can obtain an IP address automatically in the Internet protocol (TCP/IP) properties. • Type the correct network key (Wi-Fi password) when you connect to your mobile hotspot.
Compatible Vehicles Electric cars and other vehicles, such as heavy-duty trucks and ATVs, are not compliant with your mobile hotspot. Working Voltage Your mobile hotspot is a Wi-Fi hotspot without a battery. The power is supplied through the vehicle’s OBD II connector port. The voltage range is from 9V to 16V. If the OBD II voltage drops to 11.5V, your mobile hotspot will go into Protection mode to ensure that the car battery remains capable of restarting.
Working State and Transition Your mobile hotspot will start and register to the network at cold start. Your mobile hotspot offers you a hotspot in your vehicle whenever the engine is running. It can be programmed to remain engaged for a period of time after the engine is turned off. • In some vehicles, ignition will drop the voltage of the OBD II connector to 11.5V for more than 500 ms. This causes the mobile hotspot to go into Protection mode.
