Warning! Use only ZTE-approved chargers and cables. The use of unapproved accessories could damage your tablet or cause the battery to explode. Important: Do not change the built-in rechargeable battery in your device by yourself. The battery can only be changed by ZTE or ZTE authorized service provider. 1. Connect the adapter to the charging jack. Ensure the adapter has the correct orientation before insertion. Do not force the connector into the charging jack. 2.
Note: To save battery power, the tablet automatically turns off the screen after a certain period of time when you leave it idle. You will still be able to receive notifications while the tablet screen is off. Unlocking the Screen and Keys Press the Power key to turn the screen on.
Getting to Know Your Tablet Key Functions Front camera Speaker Key Function Power key ress and hold to turn Airplane mode on P or off, to Restart, or to Power off. Press to change your tablet to Sleep mode. Press to wake up your tablet. Home key ress to return to the home screen from P any application or screen. Press and hold to access Google Search™ or Google Now™. Recent apps key Press to see recently used applications and access App Manager and Clear all.
Getting to Know the Home Screen Adding a New Home Screen Panel The home screen is the starting point for your tablet’s applications, functions, and menus. You can customize your home screen by adding shortcuts, folders, widgets, and more. Widget Status and notification bar 1. Press and hold an empty area of the home screen. 2. Slide left or right until you see on the screen. 3. Tap and a new home screen will be automatically added. Deleting a Home Screen Panel 1.
Personalizing Changing the System Language 1. From the home screen, tap Settings Language. 2. Select the language you need. Language & input Turning System Sounds On/Off Setting the Date and Time 1. From the home screen, tap Settings Date & time. 2. Set the date, time, time zone, and date/time format. • To adjust the date and time automatically, tap to toggle on Automatic date & time.
3. Tap Do not disturb, and then choose an option: • Tap Off to disable the feature. • Tap On to enable the feature. • Tap Scheduled to enable the feature. 4. If On or Scheduled is selected, tap Disturb rules and select Priority only, Alarms only, or Total silence, depending on whether you want to allow exceptions. You can customize the exceptions when Priority only is selected. Tap on or off the options below Priority interruptions according to your needs.
3. Swipe left or right on the wallpaper panel to select a wallpaper, or tap GALLERY or LIVE WALLPAPER to choose the image or animation you want to use as the wallpaper. Note: In addition, from the home screen, you can tap Settings Display Wallpaper to pick an image from Gallery, Photos, or Wallpapers, or an animation from Live Wallpapers. Changing the Screen Brightness 1. From the home screen, tap Settings Display Brightness level. 2. Drag the slider to manually adjust the screen brightness.
Turning On Screen Pinning 1. From the home screen, tap Settings Security Screen pinning. 2. Tap the On/Off switch. 3. If you want to ask for the unlock pattern, PIN, or password before unpinning the screen, switch on Ask for unlock pattern / PIN / password before unpinning when the screen lock has been set. Pinning a Screen 1. Ensure that screen pinning is turned on. 2. Open the app you want to keep in view. 3. Press the Recent apps key. 4. If there are many app tabs, swipe up to find most tab. 5.
Managing Notifications Responding to or Removing Notifications The Status Bar at the top of the home screen provides notification icons on the left side. Below are some of the icons you may see.
• Airplane mode: Tap to turn on or off airplane mode. • Sync: Tap to turn on or off auto-sync of accounts data. Press and hold Sync to open the Accounts settings screen. • Do not disturb / Total silence / Alarms only / Priority only: Tap to access the Do not disturb menu. • Auto-rotate / Portrait / Landscape: Tap to turn on or off the auto-rotate screen feature. • Bluetooth: Tap to turn on or off Bluetooth. Press and hold Bluetooth to open Bluetooth settings.
Organizing With Folders Enabling or Disabling Input Methods You can create folders on the home screen and add several shortcuts to a folder. You can move or remove folders the same way as moving or removing shortcuts. 1. Press and hold an icon on a home screen until Folder appears. 2. Drag the icon to Folder and release it. A new folder will be created and the icon is put into the folder. 3. To add more shortcuts into the folder, press and hold each icon and drag it over the folder before releasing it.
• Tap to select numbers and symbols. You can then tap find more. • Tap to choose emojis and emoticons. • Tap to use Google’s networked voice input. to Gesture Typing The Google keyboard supports the gesture-typing feature. Use this feature to input a word by sliding from letter to letter on the keyboard. To enable and use gesture typing: 1. Press and hold on the Google keyboard, and then tap Google Keyboard Settings. 2. Tap Gesture Typing Enable gesture typing if this feature is turned off. 3.
Opening and Switching Apps Connecting to Networks and Devices Opening an App Connecting to Mobile Networks 1. From the home screen, tap . 2. Slide up or down on the screen and tap an app to open it. Switching Between Recently Opened Apps 1. Press the Recent apps key. A list of the names and thumbnails of apps you’ve recently used opens. If you’ve been using more apps recently than can fit on the screen, you can scroll the list up and down. 2. Tap a thumbnail to open that app.
Connecting to Wi-Fi Wi-Fi is a wireless networking technology that can provide Internet access at distances of up to 328 feet (100 meters), depending on the Wi-Fi router and your surroundings. Turning Wi-Fi On and Connecting to a Wi-Fi Network 1. From the home screen, tap Settings Wi-Fi. 2. Slide the Wi-Fi switch to the On position to turn on Wi-Fi. 3. Tap a network name to connect to it. 4. If the network is secured, enter the password and tap CONNECT.
Note: For detailed information about the WPS feature of the access point, please refer to its documentation. Forgetting a Wi-Fi Network You can make your tablet forget the details of a Wi-Fi network that you added—for example, if you don’t want the tablet to connect to it automatically or if it is a network that you no longer use. 1. From the home screen, tap Settings Wi-Fi. 2. Slide the Wi-Fi switch to the On position. 3. Tap the Wi-Fi network name and then tap FORGET.
Connecting to Bluetooth Devices Bluetooth is a short-range wireless communication technology. Tablets or other devices with Bluetooth capabilities can exchange information wirelessly within a distance of about 32.8 feet (10 meters). The Bluetooth devices must be paired before the communication is performed. Turning Bluetooth On/Off 1. From the home screen, tap Settings Bluetooth. 2. Slide the Bluetooth switch to the On or Off position. When Bluetooth is on, the icon will appear in the status bar.
Receiving Data via Bluetooth 1. Turn Bluetooth on before trying to receive data via Bluetooth. Note: If the tablet has not been paired with the sending device, you may need to tap your tablet’s device name in the Bluetooth menu in Settings to keep the tablet detectable through Bluetooth. 2. Swipe down on the status bar and tap . 3. Tap ACCEPT to start receiving the data.
You can also open the Notification Panel and tap the microSDXC card name, select Use as portable storage and then tap NEXT DONE. Removing the microSDXC Card From Your Tablet If you need to remove the microSDXC card used as portable storage while the tablet is on, you should unmount it first. 1. From the home screen, tap Settings Storage. 2. Tap next to the card name in the Portable storage section. 3. When the screen prompts the card is safely ejected, you can remove it from the tablet.
ejecting the card, ensure that you have moved data and apps to the internal storage. 1. From the home screen, tap Settings Storage. 2. Tap the microSDXC card name in the Device storage section. 3. Tap Eject EJECT OK. 4. When the screen prompts the card is safely ejected, you can remove it from the tablet. Reformatting the microSDXC card as portable storage: If you no longer want to use your microSDXC card as internal storage, you can reformat the card as portable storage.
Adding a VPN 1. From the home screen, tap Settings More VPN. 2. Tap . 3. Enter the VPN name and server address and other information provided by your network administrator. 4. Tap SAVE. The VPN is added to the list on the VPN screen. Connecting to a VPN 1. From the home screen, tap Settings More VPN. 2. Tap the VPN that you want to connect to. 3. When prompted, enter any requested credentials and then tap CONNECT. Modifying a VPN 1. From the home screen, tap Settings More 2.
9. Tap the default device name if you would like to change it, and then tap Complete Setup. Note: Once logged in, your mobile phone number will be shown at the top right of the screen. Placing and Ending Calls Working With the Call Log Placing a Call 1. From the home screen, tap . 2. Tap and enter the phone number using the dial pad. 3. Tap to delete incorrect digits. Note: As you enter a few digits of the phone number, your phone searches for matching information in your contacts.
Using Options During a Call During a voice call or video call, you will see a number of call options. Tap an option to select it. Voice Call Options • Tap mute to mute or unmute your microphone. • Tap keypad to switch to the keypad when you need to enter a code (for example, the PIN for your voicemail or bank account) during the call. • Tap hold to put the current call on hold. • Tap Speaker to switch between the earphone and speaker while the earphone is plugged in.
Adjusting Your Call Settings Adjusting the Volume Checking My Devices From the home screen, tap Settings My Devices. From here you can check the current device log-in information, as you may be logged in on multiple devices at the same time using the current account information. To modify a device name to differentiate it from other log-in entries, tap beside a listed device, enter a new name, and tap Save OK. 1. From the home screen, tap Settings Sound Setting. 2.
If you selected Scheduled, set the days and time period you want Do not disturb to automatically apply. Note: From the home screen, tap Settings Sound Setting Notification mode. Tap Ring or Mute to turn on or off the notification sounds. Changing the Ringtone and Notification Sound You can customize the default ringtone for incoming calls and the default notification sound. 1. From the home screen, tap Settings Sound Setting. 2. Tap Phone ringtone or Default notification ringtone.
Setting Up Your Own Profile Working With Favorite Contacts You can create your own name card in your phone. 1. Open the Contacts app and tap the CONTACTS tab. 2. Tap My Info . 3. Tap each field to edit the information. 4. Tap More Fields to change or add other profile details. 5. Tap to save. You can add your favorite and frequently contacted contacts to the FAVORITES contacts tab so you can find them quickly. Importing, Exporting, and Sharing Contacts 1.
Working With Groups Deleting Contacts 1. Open the Contacts app and tap the CONTACTS tab. 2. Tap the contact you want to remove. 3. Tap Delete OK. Joining Contacts As your phone synchronizes with multiple online accounts, you may see duplicate entries for the same contact. You can merge all the separate information of a contact into one entry in the contacts list. 1. Open the Contacts app and tap a contact you want to merge information with. 2. Tap Join. 3.
Accounts Configuring Account Sync Adding or Removing Accounts Configuring Auto-sync Settings You can add multiple Google accounts and Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync® accounts. You may also add other kinds of accounts, depending on the apps installed on your tablet. Adding an Account 1. From the home screen, tap Settings Accounts Add account. 2. Tap the type of account you want to add. 3. Follow the on-screen steps to enter the information about the account.
Email Checking Your Emails From the home screen, tap . Use it to read and send emails from Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync, Gmail, Hotmail, Yahoo!®, and more. Setting Up the First Email Account 1. When you open Email for the first time, tap an email type and then enter your email address and password. 2. Tap Next to let the tablet retrieve the network parameters automatically. Note: You can also enter these details manually by tapping Manual setup or if automatic setup fails. 3.
Deleting an Email You can delete an email from its folder. You can also delete a batch of emails. • While reading a message, tap OK. • While in a message list (for instance, the inbox), tap the checkboxes in front of the messages and then tap OK. Adding and Editing Email Accounts Deleting an Email Account 1. From your inbox, tap Settings. 2. Tap the account you want to delete, and then tap Remove account. 3. Tap OK to confirm. All email messages in the account will be deleted.
Browser Switching Between Tabs Use Browser to view web pages and search for information. Opening the Browser To open Browser, from the home screen, tap . If Browser is recently used, the last web page you were viewing is displayed. If you have not used Browser recently, your home page opens. Browser also opens when you tap a web link – for example, in an email or a text message. 1. From the home screen, tap . 2. Tap the address box at the top of the web page. 3.
Camera You can take photos and record videos. Photos and videos are stored to the tablet’s memory card or to the tablet’s internal storage. You can copy them to your computer or access them in the Gallery app. 1. From the home screen, tap 7 7 . Select MANUAL or AUTO camera mode, or select FUN to use panorama, HDR, special effect, multiexposure, smile detection, or interval capture modes (only available for the rear-facing camera). Switch between the front-facing and rear-facing cameras.
1. From the home screen, tap . 2. Tap MANUAL. 3. Aim the camera at the subject and you can make the following adjustments. • Drag to any area on the screen that you want to focus on. • Drag to any area on the screen where you want the camera to meter exposure so as to adjust the photo brightness. • Tap to show the grid or the golden spiral, or hide grid overlays. • Tap to turn gradienter on or off. • Tap to change white balance scenario or leave it at Auto.
VIDEO • Video quality: Set the quality for your video. • Time lapse: Set the time interval between each frame when recording videos using the rear-facing camera. • Focus lock when recording: Select whether to lock the focus point on the center of the screen when recording videos using the rear-facing camera. • Geo-tagging: Select whether to store the GPS location in your captured videos. • Storage location: Tap Save location to change the storage location for captured videos.
Working With Pictures 4 Edit the picture. 5 Share the picture. 7 6 6 7 Add the picture to the Favorite album. Rotate, rename, print, check file details, set as wallpaper, or view in slideshow mode. Tap a picture in an album to view the picture in full screen. 1 Notes: 2 • Pinch a picture or video to make it smaller. You’ll then see a filmstrip-style view of all your pictures and videos in a row. Swipe left or right to scan through them all.
Add text to or draw on the picture, and add a mosaic effect. Add a frame or sticker decoration to the picture. 3. To cancel or accept the changes you’ve made to the picture, tap or at the top of the screen. 4. Tap to save the new picture. Note: Tap in the Photo Editor screen to see the edits you have made and undo or redo them. Making a GIF or a Collage 6. When you are satisfied with the final picture, tap GIF or tap to save the collage. to save the Playing Videos 1.
Music Receiving via Wi-Fi Direct From the home screen, tap Music to play audio files stored on your tablet. Music supports a wide variety of audio formats, so it can play music you purchase from online stores, music you copy from your CD collection, and more. Copying Music Files to Your Tablet Before using Music, you need to copy audio files from your computer to your tablet or memory card. Copying from a Computer 1. Connect your tablet and the computer with a USB cable. 2.
Playing Music Tap a song in the music library to listen to it. Tap the playback bar and the following playback screen appears: 5 Drag the slider to jump to any part of the song. 6 Play the current playlist in shuffle mode, where tracks are played in random order. 1 2 7 12 11 8 3 10 4 9 5 80 Function 1 Song, album, and artist information. 2 Tap to go back to the music library. 3 Album artwork (if available). 4 Track information. Add the song to your favorites.
Video Player 5 Use the Video Player to manage your video library and to watch videos. 6 Opening the Video Library 7 From the home screen, tap Video Player to view your video library. Swipe up or down to find the video you want. You can also tap to search for video files, or tap View by or Sort by to change the display mode or sort the list. 1 9 2 8 7 6 Playing and Controlling Videos Tap a video in the video library to play it. Tap the screen to show the playback controls.
FM Radio Renaming a Video 1. Tap next to the video you want to rename. 2. Tap Rename. 3. Type the new video name and tap OK. Trimming a Video 1. Tap a video to start playing it. 2. Tap Trim. 3. Drag the two tabs on the progress bar to select the portion you want to keep. You can tap to preview the selected portion. 4. Once the preview ends, tap . The trimmed video is saved as a new video file. Viewing Details of a Video 1. Tap next to a video you want to view the details of. 2. Tap Details. 3.
Sound Recorder • You can save up to 16 channels to favorites. • Tap to listen to FM Radio through the tablet speaker. Sound Recorder enables you to record voice memos and listen to them whenever you like. Editing a Saved Channel 1. Open the FM Radio app and tap All channels to display the list of saved channels. 2. Press and hold a channel and select Rename or Delete, or tap the star to the right of a channel to add it to or remove it from favorites.
More Apps Backup and Restore From the home screen, tap Backup & Restore. You can back up your user data, such as contacts and messages, and installed applications to the memory card regularly. If the data get lost, restore it from the memory card. Tap Help to view detailed guide. Note: You can back up your user data to the internal storage when a microSDXC card is not inserted. Please copy this data to your PC or other devices to avoid data loss.
File Manager Google Apps Quickly access all of your images, videos, audio clips, and other files on your internal storage and the microSDXC card. From the home screen, tap File Manager. You can find the file you need by category in the CATEGORY tab, or tap LOCAL to browse folders and files on the tablet storage or the microSDXC card. • Tap folders and files to access stored items. • Press and hold an item to access option icons such as copy, move, share, or delete.
• Play™ Store: Buy and download apps, games, and other content from the Google Play Store. • Sheets™: Create, edit, and collaborate with others on spreadsheets from your tablet. • Slides™: Create, edit, and collaborate with others on slide presentations from your tablet. • Voice Search™: Search for information with your voice. • YouTube™: Watch video clips from YouTube.com, or upload your own and share with the world. Settings From the home screen, tap Settings.
Notes: • The data usage is measured by your tablet, and your carrier’s data usage accounting may differ. • Tap Network restrictions to select Wi-Fi networks that are mobile hotspots. Data usage on recognized mobile hotspots will be restricted to avoid high mobile data bills. • Font size: Set the font size of the text on the screen. • Cast: Connect to Wi-Fi display screens and project the tablet onto a larger screen.
Note: You need to sign in to your Google account on the tablet to use the Smart Lock feature. • Encrypt tablet: Your tablet is already encrypted. • Set up SIM card lock: Lock the SIM card and change the SIM PIN. – Lock SIM card: Activate or deactivate the PIN lock to require PIN before accessing the nano-SIM card. – Change SIM PIN: Change the PIN used to access the nanoSIM card. Note: Put all your confidential passwords in a safe place for future use.
Google Manage settings for Google apps and services that are installed on your device. Device Location Activate location services to determine your location. To use location-related applications, such as finding your location on Google Maps, you must have location services turned on on your tablet. 1. From the home screen, tap Settings Location. 2. Slide the Location switch to the On position to turn on location access. 3.
• Data usage: Check how much data has been used by the app during the time cycle you set and restrict background data for the app. • Permissions: Check or change the app permissions. • Notifications: Manage the app notifications that appear on the Notification Panel and the lock screen. You can set the priority, sensitivity, and more. • Open by default: Check the app’s supported links, set whether to open the links in the app, and clear any set defaults.
About tablet View tablet status, legal information, and other information. You can also tap Additional system updates Storage card updates to install updates from update packages copied to the storage card. For Your Safety General Safety Don’t use this device while driving. Never text while driving. Turn off when near explosive materials or liquids. Small parts may cause choking. Don’t use at gas stations. Your device can produce a loud sound. Your device may produce a bright or flashing light.

• Do not use harsh chemicals, cleaning solvents, or aerosols to clean the device or its accessories. • Do not paint your device or its accessories. • Do not attempt to disassemble your device or its accessories. Only authorized personnel can do so. • Do not expose your device or its accessories to extreme temperatures, minimum 23°F and maximum 122°F (minimum – 5°C and maximum + 50°C). • Please check local regulations for disposal of electronic products.
Device Heating Pacemakers Your device may become warm during charging and during normal use. Pacemaker manufacturers recommend that a minimum separation of 6 inches (15 cm) be maintained between a mobile device and a pacemaker to avoid potential interference with the pacemaker. To achieve this, use the device on the opposite ear to your pacemaker and do not carry it in a breast pocket. Electrical Safety Accessories Use only approved accessories. Do not connect with incompatible products or accessories.
Consult the airline staff about the use of wireless devices on board the aircraft. If your device offers a ‘flight mode’, this must be enabled prior to boarding an aircraft. Interference in Cars Please note that because of possible interference to electronic equipment, some vehicle manufacturers forbid the use of mobile devices in their vehicles unless a hands-free kit with an external antenna is included in the installation.
