To save this change on the Switch Blade, enter the command:
zsync
In order to allow your system manager to translate SNMP queries (for example, snmpwalk) made against the
ShMM, you must place a copy of the ShMM’s MIB onto your system manager. The MIB is used by the system
manager to translate numerical information about the status and variables contained on the ShMMs.
The ShMM SNMP MIB is avaialable for download at this web site:
http://www.a-tca.com/dev_atca_new/download.asp?source=&file=pps.zip
Unzip the downloaded file, and then rename the MIB file to: PPS-SENTRY-MIB.txt. Copy this file to the
location on your system manager where your MIBs are kept. Optionally, you may put a copy of the ShMM
MIB onto your Switch Blade as: /usr/share/snmp/mibs/PPS-SENTRY-MIB.txt.
NOTE The MIBs for the Switch Blades are kept under the directory: /usr/share/snmp/mibs. You
may also want to consider copying some of these Switch Blade MIBs to the designated system
manager.
Configuring eth0 Out-of-Band Port (The Walk-up Configuration Port)
The Out-of-Band Ethernet port is located below the serial access port on the Ethernet Switch Blade front
panel, and is labeled as OOB. See Figure 7-7 on page 70 and Figure 7-8 on page 70.
