All-Purpose Adhesive and Wall Size

SureGrip

All-Purpose Adhesive and Wall Size is a high performance powder

adhesive for hanging all types of pre-pasted and non-pasted wallcoverings and

borders. With exceptional non-staining properties, this adhesive is ideal for use with

special and delicate wallpapers, non-woven coverings and fabrics. It readily dissolves

in cold water without forming lumps, spreads easily, dries clear and is odorless. This

powerful all-purpose adhesive is strippable and makes positioning easier.

This product is also an excellent wall size for preparing walls prior to the application of wallcoverings. It enhances

bonding and allows for easy stripping later.

Selection Data

Generic Type – Starch-based wallcovering adhesive.

Recommended Uses – Use for hanging all types and weights of pre-pasted and non-pasted wallpaper including

lightweight non-woven, paper- and fabric-backed materials. Refer to the “ZINSSER SureGrip Adhesive Selection Chart”

online at www.rustoleum.com for detailed recommendations.

Not Recommended For – This product is not intended for hanging borders or wallcovering over existing vinyl

wallcovering without the use of a primer. See “Existing Vinyl Wallcovering” on page 2 for recommendations. This

product is not recommended for hanging heavy type II or III commercial wallcovering.

Application Data

Surface Preparation – Surface must be clean, dry, smooth and sound – free of dust, grease, wax, oil, old wallcovering

adhesive, mold and mildew, other residue and outside sources of moisture. Inspect surface for paint bonding, loose

wallcoverings, damaged wallboard or plaster. Remove old or loose wallcovering and residual wallcovering adhesive with

DIF

Wallpaper Stripper. Repair unsound surfaces. Seal loose paint or damaged drywall and skim coats with GARDZ

High Performance Sealer as needed.

Mold & Mildew – Eliminate pre-existing mold and mildew by washing the affected area with a solution of 3/4 cup of

Clorox

Ultra Bleach to 1 gallon of clean water. Wear protection to prevent skin and eye contact. Quickly wash off any

solution that comes in contact with your skin. Do not add ammonia or other cleaning products to the bleach solution.

Rinse surface with clean water. Allow surface to dry thoroughly before applying wallcovering.

Mixing – In a clean container, slowly mix the contents of carton with water as recommended in “Mixing & Coverage

Chart” below. Stir until product is completely dissolved. Wait ten minutes before using, stirring occasionally. Mix only the

amount intended for use. Do not store unused mixed material.

Application – Use only when temperature is above 50ºF. Apply adhesive to the back of wallcovering with a brush, roller or pasting machine. Smooth the adhesive evenly over the entire wallcovering. Make sure sufficient adhesive is on edges. Avoid contact with the surface of embossed or delicate wallcovering. Book and hang wallcovering according to manufacturer's instructions. Drywall – Wipe down with a damp cloth to remove residual joint compound dust prior to priming.

Caution– Avoid contact with eyes and skin. Wear eye and skin protection. In case of eye contact, flush eyes with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes. In case of skin contact, wash thoroughly with soap and water. Do not take internally. If swallowed contact a physician or Poison Control Center. Use with adequate ventilation.
