ZINSSER Ceiling Paint is a high performance, low VOC, latex acrylic paint specially designed for
ceilings. Formulated with superior stain-blocking technology, ZINSSER Ceiling Paint seals water and
other household stains in just one coat! Plus, in order to make it easy to see where you have
previously painted, ZINSSER Ceiling Paint goes on pink and dries to a bright white. The high hiding,
flat sheen also provides a mildew resistant finish.

Recommended Use Areas and Surfaces – Apply to new or previously painted or primed wood, drywall, painted metal
and plaster, textured and popcorn style ceilings in kitchens, bathrooms, basements, closets and more. Bare metal, new or
knocked-down texture should be primed and sealed with Bulls Eye 123
®
Primer. If unsure about the integrity of the
surface and need to test the adhesion, place a 2‖ piece of scotch tape on the ceiling and pull off. If tape comes off with
remnants of the ceiling, you need to prime first. Seal new popcorn ceilings with
CoverStain
®
Primer before applying
any latex-base ceiling paint.
Coverage – One coat coverage--no priming is required. Coverage is 250 to 400 sq. ft. depending upon the surface
texture, porosity and application method.
Surface Preparation – Clean all surfaces with a damp cloth to remove any dirt, dust, grease, wax, wallcovering
adhesive, soap film, loose paint or other surface contaminants. Use

and remove mold and mildew stains. After cleaning, allow ample time for surface to dry. Dull glossy surfaces by scuffing
or sanding. Patch all cracks and holes with a patching compound such as READY PATCH
®
or similar product. Countersink

Primer.
WARNING! If you scrape, sand or remove old paint, you may release lead dust. LEAD IS TOXIC. EXPOSURE TO LEAD
DUST CAN CAUSE SERIOUS ILLNESS, SUCH AS BRAIN DAMAGE, ESPECIALLY IN CHILDREN. PREGNANT WOMEN
SHOULD ALSO AVOID EXPOSURE. Wear a NIOSH-approved respirator to control lead exposure. Clean up carefully with a
HEPA vacuum and a wet mop. Before you start, find out how to protect yourself and your family by contacting the

Recommended Tools – Apply with a quality ½‖ nap roller or a nylon or polyester brush. An extension pole is
recommended for making longer strokes. Can be spray applied.
Application Data
Use ZINSSER Ceiling Paint when surface and air temperatures are between 50-90
◦
F (10-32
◦
C). Stir thoroughly before
using. Apply at package consistency. Do not thin for one coat coverage. Apply generously and avoid overspreading.
Provide ample ventilation and warmth for normal drying. Product was designed to go on with a pink color, to easily
identify missed or skipped areas. As the paint dries, it will change to its intended
―
bright
white‖ ceiling color. The paint
typically dries in 1 hour or less. Thick films, poor ventilation, cool temperatures or high humidity may increase the time
