Installing the Hotwire 6390 ReachDSL Modem Place the Hotwire 6390 ReachDSL Modem on a flat surface with clearance for the rear connectors. Procedure 1. UNPLUG TELEPHONE. If a telephone is connected at RJ11 Wall Jack the RJ11 wall jack where the ReachDSL modem will be installed, unplug the telephone line from the wall jack. 2. CONNECT A TELEPHONE. (Optional – go to Step 3 if you are not connecting a telephone to the modem.
