that only a printer owner or manager, or a member of a group

conﬁgured to share operational control of the printer,maycon-

nect to the printer local web interface through the Polar Cloud.

If your local network allows such access back from the Internet

(which may or may not be the case), then you can access all of

the pr i nter’s local web interface while still in the Polar Cloud.

(However, i f your local network doe s not allow such Internet ac-

cess, then the Polar Cloud con n ect i on at t em pt to the printer’ s

local web interface will not succeed; in that case, you will only

be ab l e to access t h e printer’s local web interface by connecting

directly to the printer while on you r l ocal network; see Chapter

5.)

However, note that once you have initially connected your

printer to the Polar Cloud (as discussed in Chapter 1), there

is seldom much subsequent need or interest in accessing the

printer’ s local web interface; fo r printers ma n a ged through the

Polar Cloud, use of the printer local web interface might oc-

cur only for occasional m anual operations or for printer re-

conﬁguration purposes. Sustained use of the printer’s local web

interface occurs primarily when instead controlling the printer

directly from a device connected via local WiFi (as di sc u ssed in

Section C.1).
