The counter value, as mentioned previously, is a count of the number of times the
corresponding digital input has activated. This can be converted to engineering units simply
by multiplying the count by a conversion factor. For example, if a flow sensor outputs one
pulse for every 100 gallons of flow through a pipe. The count can be multiplied by 100 to get
the total flow in gallons.
The counter period is returned in 10ths of a second, so the period in seconds is:
