H/Z-100 Service Bulletins
FSB-Z100-014: Unit Hangs Up After Lengthy Operation
Check the programmable interrupt controllers U208 and U209 (HE 443-1012). These
ICs may be defective.
FSB-Z100-015: Z-207 Floppy Disk Controller Card; 12-volt Line Shorted
Some ribbon cables connecting the 8" interface to the rear chassis have too much
wire protruding past the controller board connector. This extra wire may pierce the
board resist and short to the 12 Vdc line.
To correct, either trim off the excess wire, or wrap it with a piece of insulating tape,
or both. Later production runs have a new 50-wire cable that does not require
taping.
FSB-Z100-016: Z-207 Parts Change - C6
The 10 uF capacitor at C6 was changed to a 33 uF capacitor to decrease the number
of soft errors.
FSB-Z100-017: Floppy Controller Won't Access Drives
Check switch DS1 on the floppy controller card for proper installation and switch
settings. Looking at the board with the S-100 connector pins at the bottom, these
are:
7 6 5 4 3 2 1 0
ON (1) X X X ^ Up
OFF (0) X X X X X

FSB-Z100-018: Checkout Procedures
Logic states in the Z-100 Interim Service Manual troubleshooting sections and
schematics were measured in a unit containing version 1.0 of MTR100. Since the Z-
100 Interim Service Manual was published, several revisions to this ROM had been
released.
