Additional Operations
Blank Search
Blank Search allows you to find the beginning of
(and tell you the recording time available on) a
section of video cassette tape.
Before you begin Blank Search, rewind the tape
to the beginnning.
From the Stop Mode:
1. Press SEARCH on the remote control. The
Index Search display will appear.
2. Press SEARCH again. The following dis-
play will appear on the TV screen.

Press F FWD. The following display will
appear briefly on the TV screen; the VCR
will search for blank tape.
The VCR is searching
for blank tape
(To remove this display
press the QUIT key)
When the VCR finds a section of blank tape, the
following display will appear.
Blank tape starts here
Tape time remaining :
(To remove this display
press the QUI']["k,.'y)
If no blank tape is available, the VCR will rewind
the tape to the beginnning.
Double Speed Playback
This feature enables you to play a tape at twice
the normal speed.
To Adjust Playback Speed:
1. Press PLAY to start playing a tape.
2. Press PLAY a second time to double
playback speed. (Audio will not be heard.)
3. Press PLAY again to return to normal
playback speed.
VCR Flashback
VCR Flashback allows you to view the TV pro-
gram the VCR Tuner is receiving while viewing a
video tape, without stopping the tape..
To Operate VCR Flashback:
1. Press FLASHBK on the remote', while play-
ing a tape to view the TV program that is
being received by the VCR tuner.
2. Press FLASHBK again to return to viewing
the tape.
