Note:
If the system test was not successful enter 99 as the MFR
number. If the system test is riot successful then the VCR
cannot control the cable box functions. You will have to
turn on the cable box and tune the channels manually for
each recording.
_l. Channel Mapping
The last step is Channel Mapping. The listed
channel numbers in your TV guide may have to
be mapped to the local cable company's "as-
signed" TV channel numbers for your cable
company's broadcast area. Change each listed
number to your cable company's assigned num-
ber as required.
LISTED TV Channel Numbers
These listed channel numbers used in the VCR
Plus system are ordinarily included in your local
TV guide and may be called VCR Plus Channel
Numbers. You may find them in a separate VCR
Plus section of your local broadcast area's TV
guide
Cable Company ASSIGNED TV Channel Num-
bers
The channel numbers included with your cable
company's program guide are called Assigned
channel numbers. These number are arbitrarily
assigned by your cable company. The "Premium
Channels" like HBO and Cinemax of'Len have
cable company assigned q?'Vchannel :numbers dif-
ferent than 1Lhelocal TV guide's listed TV chan-
nel numbers. For example, Cinemax may be
