11. DISASSEMBLY and ASSEMBLY

Disassembly for Model 1911 A1

• Pointthebarrelinasafedirectionandremovethe

magazine.

• Opentheslidetoensurethechamberisemptyandvisually

inspectthechamber.

• Pushtherecoilspringpluginandrotatethebarrelbushing

90°clockwise.

• Removetherecoilspringplug.Iftherecoilspringiseasily

removed,dosoatthistime.Ifnot,leaveinstalled.

NOTE: Keep your hand on the recoil spring as it is

under pressure. If you lose your grip, the spring

may eject and could lead to injury.
