9. DECOCKING THE HAMMER
• Pointthebarrelinasafedirectionandmakesure
yourpistolisunloaded.
• Gripthepistolproperlywithyourdominanthand
asifpreparingtore.
• Graspthehammerbetweenthethumbandindex
ngerofyourotherhand.
• Squeezethetriggerandslowlypushthehammer
untilthehammersafetyisengaged.Donot
releasethehammeruntilthehammertsintoitshalf-cockedposition.
ATTENTION: Always store and carry your pistol with its chamber empty
and its hammer safety engaged. When your pistol is loaded, do not try to
release the hammer, as doing so may fi re your pistol and cause injury or
death to yourself or others. Also, release the hammer slowly by grasping
it fi rmly between two fi ngers. Fast release of the hammer can result in
damage to the fi ring pin.
