Th e HDVI5 is a f u l ly digital switch, u n l i k e many similar produc ts,
the HDVI5 decode s t h e DVI / HDMI s i g n a l and re - e n c o d e s it on the
output. This allows it to correct for many non- compliant devices
attached to its inp u t s, an d s till generate fully compli a nt H D MI /DVI
data on the out p u t s.
Th e fo l lowing parameters are usually b e s t left a l o n e and will have
no affect on a f ully compliant DVI / H D MI source, b u t may be useful
when connec t ing to a non- compliant source.
Bandwidth: This setting a l l ows t h e HDVI5 to sync to s o u rces wit h
clocks that are unsta b l e and are outside the D V I / HDMI spec i f i c a-
tions. The larger th e b andwidth, the b e t ter able to lock on to n o n -
standard sources at the expense o f being more suseptib l e to noise.
Some PC c a rds m ay require this valu e to b e set high (6M H z) to work
re l i ably.
HSync a n d VSy n c: These s e t tings default to h avin g n o effe ct on t h e
HSync a V Sy n c signals. If a s o u rce a n d monitor will not wor k w i th
each other, u s i ng the HDVI5 a n d setting thes e s ignals low (Red LED s
lit) may allow them to.
HSJitter: Some non - compliant s o u rces can g e nerate horizontal jit-
ter, causing th e s cre e n to jump back an d for th h o r izontally. This set-
ting can elim i n a te t h i s problem on all st a n d a rd res o l u t ions. I t m ay
not work on some n o n -standard resolutions.
