Step 1: Enter the Enable / Disable Control State

holding the Power

...while continuing to hold the Power
button, press and hold the ‘4’ button.
After about 4 seconds, the standby LED
will flash quickly, and the display will indi-
cate the current enable / disable statuses.

Disabling Front Panel or Remote
If you are not plan n i n g on using a remote control with your HDS4 . 1 ,
yo u might want to disable it s remo te control func tion.
Or if you have a household w i t h yo u ng curious f i n gers that likes
playing with buttons, you also have the capabi l i t y of di s a b l ing the
fro n t panel switches an d o nly operating the H D S 4 .1 with a remote.
To e n a b le/disable th e f ront p a n e l switches or remote capabi l i t ies. . .
Step 1: Enter the Enable / Disable control state
First press and h o l d the Power button
While continuing to hold t h e Powe r Button, press and hold
the ‘ 4 ’ button.
Af ter holdi n g b oth buttons for about ‘4 ’ s econds, t he stand-
by LED will sta r t f lashing quick ly ind i c a t i n g yo u are now
able to enable / d i s able front panel buttons a n d IR contro l
func t i o n s.
Th e front panel selec tion LEDs n ow i n d i cate the state of the
fro n t panel and IR control sett i n g s :
If ‘3 ’ i s lit, then th e Fro n t Panel buttons are ENABLE D.
If ‘4 ’ i s lit, then th e I R re mote func t i o ns are ENABLED.
Step 2: Enable or Disable Front Panel and / or IR control
Use the ‘ 3 ’ but ton to E N A B LE / DISABLE t h e fro n t panel
buttons.
Use the ‘ 4 ’ but ton to E N A B LE / DISABLE t h e IR remote con-
tro l func t i o ns.
When finished, press the ‘Power ’ b u t ton to save n e w set-
tings and return to n o r mal operations.
Note 1: Th e H DS4.1 will no t a llow you to d i s a ble both the f ront
panel and IR controls at the same t i m e.
Note 2: Disabling t h e front panel buttons do e s not disable t h e
ability to enter th e S etup Mode s. Eve n with the front
panel disable d you c a n per form the above steps, allow-
ing yo u to once again enable t h e fro nt panel buttons.
