Controlling the Front Panel Lights
Th ere are fo u r diffe rent f ront pane l l ight modes available on t h e
HDS4.1. They are:
Front panel lights au tomatic a l l y fade from bright to d i m
after 4 s e con d s o f inac t i vity.
Front panel lights are always at the br i g h t l eve l.
Front panel lights are always at the dim l e vel.
Front panel lights are tur n e d off.
Note: Th e intensities of th e b oth the bri g h t a n d dim levels can be
adjusted as well, this is exp l a i ned in the ne x t chapter.

Step 1: Enter the Setup Mode
Th e HDS4.1 is p l a c e d i nto the setup mod e by p ress i n g and
holding the Power bu t ton for abo u t 4 seconds.
Step 2: Select the Lighting Mode option
Press the ‘3 ’ but ton to s e l e ct th e “Lighting Mode” option.
Th e front panel selec tion LEDs n ow i n d i cate the currently
selec ted l i g ht mode as follows:
If ‘1 ’ i s lit, then front panel l i ghts are alway s o f f.
If ‘2 ’ i s lit, then front panel l i ghts are alway s d i m.
If ‘3 ’ i s lit, then front panel l i ghts are alway s b r ight.
If ‘4 ’ i s lit, then front panel l i ghts auto- f a d e from bright to
dim af ter 4 s econds of inac tivit y.
Step 3: Choose a new lighting mode
Choose a new l i g ht contro l m o de by pressing the asso c i -
ate d selec t i on button.
Press the Power Bu t to n to s ave the n e w m ode and return to
normal ope ration s.
Note: Th e lighting mode s e t t ing is save d i n non-volat i le mem-
or y a nd is not affec ted by a power f a i l ure.

Step 1: Place the HDS4.1 into the Setup Mode
Press and hold the Power Button for 4 secs.
The standby LED will blink wildly, and the
selection LEDs will start sequencing to the
right.
Step 2: Select “Lighting Mode” option

After ‘3’ is pressed, the standby
LED continues to flash, and the
front panel will display the cur-
rent Light Mode setting.
Step 3: Choose a new lighting mode
