Using a Different Remote
The H DMI5 featu re s Zekt or ’s Exclus ive I ntel lige nt-IR™ , an d wi th ve r y

This is u sefu l if you have mo re th an o ne H DMI5 in the same room.
Pick a new remote
Star t by p ick in g a new re mote you’d lik e to use with the
HDMI 5. (Or use the unu sed butto ns o n th e HD MI5' s rem ote.)
If you p lan on u sing a u niver sal re mote, star t by s etti ng
it u p as a re mote fo r a T V o r VCR that you d on' t own. (For
inst ance if yo u do n’t own a S ony T V, s etup your unive rsal
remote to co ntrol a S ony T V.)
Step 1: Put the HDMI5 into the Setup Mode
The H DMI5 is place d in to th e se tup mode by p re ssin g an d
hold ing the Power butto n for abou t 4 secon ds.
Step 2: Select the Intelligent-IR™ Learn Mode
Sel ec t th e I ntell igent- IR™ Le arn Mo de p re ssi n g ‘1’.
Once the ‘1 ’ b utton is press ed, th e st andby LED wil l fl ash
slower and all the oth er L EDs will tur n of f. The HDMI 5 is
now wa itin g for new IR codes to b e se nt fro m your remo te
control.
Step 3: Teach the HDMI5 your new remote control codes
On yo ur rem ote co ntrol, press the follow ing butto ns, in the
fo llowi ng o rder :
Power 1 2 3 4 5 0 8 9
The f ront p anel LED 's w ill sequ ence as e ach butto n is
press ed, an d th e IR LED wil l fl ash fo r ea ch b utton -- if n ot,
see the fo llowi ng s ec tion on "More Rem ote Opti ons".
That ’s it! The HDM I5 w ill retur n to the state it was i n be fo re
setu p, and will now wo rk with your new remote !

The front panel LEDs will start to blink
wildly... (You’ll know it when it happens!)
Step 2: Press the ‘1’ button for Intelligent-IR™ learning

Press the following sequence of buttons on
your remote control:

That’s it! The HDMI5 now operates with
your new remote control!
Once the 1 button is pressed, the
standby LED will flash slower, and
all the other LEDs will turn off.
