CONTROL CHAR
Description: This menu item is used to change the control command prefix. The default prefix is the tilde
(~). The printer looks for this character to indicate the start of a ZPL/ZPL II command. Set the format prefix
character to match what is used in your label formats.
The control command prefix is an ASCII (two-digit hexadecimal value shown in parenthesis) used as a
parameter place marker in ZPL/ZPL II control instructions.
Important • You cannot use the same hex value for the format command prefix, control character, and delimiter
characters. The printer must see different characters to work properly. If you are setting the value through the
interface, the printer will skip any value that is already in use.
Acceptable values: 00 to FF hexadecimal
