Installing Hardware Options
Installing Dispense, Cut, and Tear Media Handling Options
The printer uses a common installation and mounting method for the label dispensers, cutter, and label
tear-off printer option kits.
Removing Media Handling Options
To protect you and the printer, before installing, reconfiguring, or troubleshooting media handling options
in your print please do the following.
• Remove the media roll from the Media Roll Holder.
• Disconnect the DC power plug from the rear of the printer.
• Remove any interface cables and USB devices.
Tools Required:
Upgrade kits comewith a common T10 hexolobular Allen-style wrench.
IMPORTANT: You should not remove and replace connectivity modules as a general practice.
IMPORTANT: The printer will verify any hardware changes and configure the printer as needed
during restart. For optimal printer performance, update the printer’s firmware immediately after
the printer’s initial setup is done or after upgrading the printer is completed. See Updating Printer
Firmware on page 137.
The standardTear option bezel is removed the same as other media handling printer options.
1. Turn the printer upside down. Remove the two mounting screws.
2. Slide the bezel along the front of the printer about 12.5 mm (0.5 in.) towards the printer base. Pull the
loose bezel straight out the front of the printer.
