Troubleshooting
• An internal command or other actionchanged the parameter back to the default setting.
Remedy: SavePrinter/Format Settings
Internal Printer Support
• Reset printer settings. Sometimes it is helpful to reset the printer to factory default.
• Update printer firmware in case of memory corruption.
See Updating Printer Firmware on page 137.
• Check the label formatsyntax.

Issue: Non-continuous Labels act as Continuous Labels.
Condition
A non-continuous label format with matching label media loaded in the printer was sent to the printer but
prints like it is continuous roll media.
Cause
The printer is configured for continuous media.
Remedy
Internal Printer Support
• Set the printer for the correct media type (gap/notch, continuous, or mark).
• Calibrate the printer using Run a SmartCal Media Calibration on page 78.
• If necessary use Manual Media Calibration Mode on page 155 for hard-to-calibrate media types.
Issue: Printer Locks-Up
Condition
The printer is not responding to operator actions and commands sent to the printer. The status may be all
on or in unknown status patterns.
Cause: Memory Corruption or Failure
The printer memory has been corrupted by an unknown event.
Remedy: Reload Printer Firmware and Test
Internal Printer Support
1. Reset the printer to factory defaults.
Use one of the following methods to reset factory defaults.
• See Resetting Printer Factory Defaults (PAUSE + FEED Self Test) on page 152.
• Use the Zebra Setup Utility and Open Printer Tools > Action > Load printer defaults.
2. Reload printer firmware. See Updating Printer Firmware on page 137.
