Troubleshooting
Remedy: Reload your Media
• The media printable surface must face up towards the printhead. See Getting Ready to Print on page 65
followed by Loading Roll Media in the ZD411D Printer on page 66.
Issue: Print Image Moves or is Distorted
Condition
Print image distortion or printpositioning issues.
Cause: Media Needs to be Reloaded
has not been loaded incorrectly, the movable media sensor is not set properly, or the media needs to be
calibrated.
Remedy: Inspect Area and Reload the Media
Internal Printer Support - Operator Action
1. Leave printer power ON and remove the media.
2. Visually inspect the media path, roll holders, and media guidesfor paper dust and adhesive
buildup.Visually inspect the platen(drive) rollerfor damage orpaper dust and adhesive.

3. Verify that the sensor is set and positioned correctly for your media type and sensing location.Check
to see the Movable Sensors windowis clean.

4. Reload the media.

Cause: Printer Needsto be Cleaned
Remedy: Clean the Interior of the Printer

1. Clean the printer's media path, platen roller, and media sensors.

3. Clean the platen (drive) roller

4. Clean the printhead last.

5. Reload the printer media and run a SmartCal media calibration.
Platen Roller is Damaged or Worn Out
Over time the platen roller can wear out or become damaged. As the platen roller gets older, it smoother
and grips the media less and becomes less soft and wears out.
