Printhead is not fully closed. Close printhead completely.
Printhead Open Sensor not
detecting Flag OR Flag not in
proper position.
Check Head Open Sensor and Flag for
proper operation.
Printer stops and
PRINTHEAD Light
ON.
Printhead element is overheated. Printer resumes printing when the
printhead element cools.
Printer stops.
PAUSE Light ON
and PRINTHEAD
Light Flashes.
Printhead is not fully closed. Close printhead completely.
Printhead Open Sensor not
detecting its position flag.
Adjust the Printhead Open Sensor position.
Printer prints across
web or in wrong
position.
Loss of registration indicating a
Media Sensor problem.
Adjust Media Sensor position and then, if
needed, adjust the Media Sensor sensitivity.
Printer set for continuous
media, but non-continuous
media is loaded.
Set printer for correct type of media.
For Peel-Off mode: Improperly adjusted Media
Edge Guides or Power Roller.
Reposition and adjust as necessary.
Dots missing in
printed area of label.
Printhead element going bad.
Print quality problems.
Check print quality. Replace printhead if
symptoms persist.
Light vertical lines
approx. 0.006" wide
running through all
labels.
Dirty printhead or ribbon rollers. Clean printhead and ribbon rollers.
Defective Printhead elements. Replace printhead.
Short printed lines at
45 degrees to label
edge on left or right
side of label.
Too much Printhead pressure. Reduce Toggle Pressure.
Continuous printing
occurring with the
PRINTHEAD Light
ON.
Printhead under temperature. Check print quality. Printhead will heat up
by printing, or move printer to a warmer
area.
Printer stops and
PAUSE light turns
ON.
Not enough memory to perform
one of the functions shown
below.
Functions:
1. Download Graphics.
2. Creating Bitmap (not enough
memory for length of label).
3. Building Format (label too
complex).
You may do any of the following:
1. Check for proper Communication
Configuration.
2. With PAUSE ON, use the “~HM” ZPL II
Command to display the amount of
memory free.
3. With PAUSE ON, press CANCEL to
skip that label format and continue to the
next one.
4. Cycle Power OFF and back ON to Clear
printer memory and start again.
