Appendix A – Printer Configuration
This section describes printer operating features that may be configured to allow DP-550 series printers to
communicate and operate properly with your computer and applications. These items are grouped into logical
groupings, or menus, as described below.
Two methods are available to change the configuration of the printer. The preferred method is to use the
Dascom Mobile Setup Utility, a Windows
®
Desktop, Windows CE, or Windows Mobile based program
described in
Appendix H. The other method is to use the built in Control Panel Setup described in Appendix I.
Depending on what items need to be changed, you may need to use either one, or both, of these methods. A
table at the beginning of the section for each menu describes which method or methods may be used.
Setup Menu Descriptions
Interface – Contains communication parameters and the printer language
emulation. Menu items vary depending upon the interface(s)
installed and currently selected as the active interface.
For configuration details for each interface, refer to the appropriate
appendix as listed here.
Appendix B – Using the Serial/USB Interface
Appendix C – Using the IrDA® Interface
Appendix D – Using the Bluetooth® Interface
Appendix E – Using the Wi-Fi® Interface
Image Management Contains items that affect character size and appearance.
For details, refer to the “Image Management” section in this
appendix.
Device Settings Contains items that affect physical aspects of the printer and how
they relate to the paper being used and the positioning of the data to
be printed.

Advanced Contains items that affect the operating modes of special printer
features. For details, refer to the “
Advanced” section in this
appendix.
