• Turn off all wireless radios when not in use. Note that the global positioning system (GPS) receiver is only turned
on when a GPS application is using GPS.
• Turn off automatic syncing for Email, Calendar, Contacts and other applications.
• Use the Power Control widget to check and control the status of radios, the screen brightness, and syncing.
• Minimize use of applications that keep the ET1 from suspending, for example, music, GPS and video applications.
Changing the Screen Timeout Setting
To set the ET1 to turn off after a short period of non-use:

4 Select a value from the Sleep window. Options:
• 15 seconds
• 30 seconds
• 1 minute (default)
• 2 minutes
• 5 minutes
• 10 minutes
• 30 minutes

Changing the Brightness Setting
To change the brightness setting in order to conserve more battery power:

3 Touch Brightness.
4 If the Automatic Brightness checkbox is set, touch the checkbox to disable.
5 Move the slider to the left to reduce the brightness.
6 Touch OK.

Turning Off the Radios
To turn off all the radios:
Procedure:
1 Press the Power button until the menu appears.

Touch Airplane mode. The airplane icon appears in the Status bar indicating that all the radios are off.
