Status Reporting Status reporting commands provide the user
and programmer with printer operational
status, memory usage, and listings of forms and
graphics loaded into printer memory. The
status responses are for maintenance and pro

gram debugging.

PROGRAMMING CAUTION:
Parallel Port Configurations and the UF, UG,
UI or US Commands: The printer only communi-
cates a detailed status to the host via the printer’s se-
rial port.
If the printer is only connected to the host via the
parallel port, DO NOT send a UF, UG, UI, or US
(Host) status reporting commands to the printer. The
printer may appear to hang. The user may have to
make a serial cable connection to the host or power
cycle the printer to resume normal printing
operations.
