MAGNETIC CARD READER, CAMEO 3- AN16793-033
You must use an ESD strap and work at a properly grounded
workstation (antistatic mat or tray). All electronic components must
be placed on an ESD protective tray. If stored, any electronic
components must be placed in antistatic bags.
Removing the Magnetic Card Reader (MCR)
This procedure is valid if PCC digit 12 = 1 or 3.
1. Remove the media and battery. Refer to the Cameo User’s Manual .
2. Remove the Top Cover. Refer to “Top Cover - Cameo 2 & 3.”
3. Loosen the CPU Board by removing the 2 screws, pressing the latch, and lifting the
board from its retainers.
4. Unplug the MCR cable from the CPU Board.
5. Remove the 2 screws that mount the MCR to the chassis. Remove the MCR.
Installing the Magnetic Card Reader (MCR)
This procedure is valid if PCC digit 12 = 1 or 3.
1.Install Mag Card Bracket
NOTE: Perform this step only if the Mag Card Bracket is damaged, or you are replacing
a Mag Card Reader in a Cameo 3 that does not have the Mag Card Bracket installed.
Secure the Pad, Foam to the Bracket, Mag Card as shown.
Install the Bracker and Foam Pad assembly in the Chassis as shown. The four
holes in the Bracket will line up with the two pins and the two mounting holes in
Pad, Foam
