EYE SENSOR, CAMEO 2 & 3- AN16793-011
You must use an ESD strap and work at a properly grounded
workstation (antistatic mat or tray). All electronic components must
be placed on an ESD protective tray. If stored, any electronic
components must be placed in antistatic bags.
Be careful not to damage the actuator on the head open switch
while working on the Cameo Chassis.

Removing the Eye Sensor (Refer to figure on next page)
1. Remove the media and battery. Refer to the
Cameo Users Manual
.
2. Remove the Top Cover. Refer to “Top Cover - Cameo 2 & 3.”
3. Loosen the CPU Board (4 screws in Cameo 2 or 2 screws and a clip in Cameo 3).
Refer to either “CPU Board - Cameo 2” or “CPU Board - Cameo 3.”
4. Loosen the Print Mechanism (3 screws in Cameo 2 or 2 screws in Cameo 3). Refer
to either “Print Mechanism - Cameo 2” or “Printer Assembly - Cameo 3.”
5. Remove the Motor. Refer to “Motor - Cameo 2 & 3.”
6. Carefully pry the eye sensor from the Print Mechanism.
7. Unplug the Eye Sensor Cable from the CPU Board.
Installing the Eye Sensor (Refer to figure on next page)
1. Install the Eye Sensor.
1a. Position the eye sensor with the narrow end toward the middle of the Print
Mechanism. Carefully press the indicted edge into place, followed by the
opposite edge until it snaps into the locking tabs. The eye sensor must show
through the cutout in the printer body.
Caution: Do not use a sharp or hard object to press the eye sensor in place.
1b. Install the motor and then dress the Eye Sensor Cable over the top of the motor.
1c. Plug the Eye Sensor Cable into the CPU Board (J5 in Cameo 2 and Cameo 3).
2. Install the Print Mechanism. Refer to either “Print Mechanism - Cameo 2” or “Printer
Assembly - Cameo 3.”
3. Secure the CPU Board. Refer to either “CPU Board - Cameo 2” or “CPU Board -
Cameo 3.”
4. Install the Top Cover. Refer to “Top Cover - Cameo 2 & 3.”
5. Install the Media and Battery. Refer to the
Cameo User’s Manual
