• #1 Slot Head Screwdriver.
Removing the Platen
1. Open the Media Cover and remove media.
2. Remove the Platen from the case opposite the gear.
Carefully pry the plastic cover (the side opposite the gear) with a flat screwdriver and
remove the platen.
3. Remove the Gear and the Platen.
Carefully pry the gear off the Platen shaft and remove both the gear and the platen.

Installing the Platen
1. Install the Bearings.
Slide theFlanged Bearings over each end of the Platen.
2. Install the Gear.
Insert the platen shaft (the side with the flat) into the hole in the media cover, line up
the gear (with part number and raised boss facing the platen), and press the gear
onto the platen shaft.
3. Snap the Platen in place.
Carefully pry the plasticcover (the side opposite the gear) and snap the platen shaft
into the media cover.
4. Install media and close the cover.

to insert smaller end of platen.
