Removing the Print Mechanism, CPU Board , Mag Card Reader, Smart
Card and Antennas (See figure on next page)
1. Remove the Media.
Turn the printer off, open the Media Cover, and remove any media from the printer.

2. Remove the Top Cover.
Remove the 2 screws from the back of the printer and remove the 2 Phillipps screws
from the front of the printer. Refer to “Top Cover - Cameo 2 & 3.”
3. Loosen the CPU board.
Remove the 2 screws from the CPU board, push the locking tab, and lift the CPU
Board from the retainers. Refer to “CPU Board - Cameo 3.”
4. Unplug the Print Head Cable, Motor cable, Eye Sensor Cable, Ground Cable, and
Head-Open Cable from the CPU Board.
5. Remove the Print Mechanism.
Remove the 2 M3 x 6mm screws and remove the Print Mechanism.
6. If desired, remove the Print Head Assembly from the Print Mechanism. Refer to
“Print Head - Cameo 3.”
Installing the Print Mechanism (See figure on next page)
This section describes how to install the Print Mechanism.
1. Install the Print Mechanism:
Insert the 2 tabs on the rear of the Printer Mechanism into the slots on the Lower
Chassis as shown. Carefully dress the wires from the Head-Open switch so that
they are not stressed or crimped. Use care not to pinch any wires between the Print
Mechanism and the mounting boss. Secure the Print Mechanism with 2 Self-
Tapping Screws
You must use an ESD strap and work at a properly grounded
workstation (antistatic mat or tray). All electronic components must
be placed on an ESD protective tray. If stored, any electronic
components must be placed in antistatic bags.
Be careful not to damage the actuator on the head open switch
while working on the Cameo Chassis.
Caution: Use care when handling the Printer Assembly to avoid being cut on
the serrated edge of the Tear Bar.
