• #1 Phillips Head Screwdriver.
• #1 Slot Head Screwdriver.
• ESD strap and mat
Remove the Print Mechanism, CPU Board. Mag Card Reader & Antenna
1. Remove the Media and Battery.
Turn the printer off, open the Media Cover, and remove any media from the printer.
Remove the Battery from the Printer. Refer to the Cameo User’s Manual .
2. Remove the Top Cover.
Remove the 2 screws from the back of the printer and remove the 2 Phillipps screws
from the front of the printer. Refer to “Top Cover - Cameo 2 & 3.”
3. Loosen the CPU board.
Remove the 4 screws from the CPU board. Refer to “CPU Board - Cameo 2.”
4. If desired, you may unplug the Print Head Cable, Motor cable, Eye Sensor Cable,
Ground Cable, and Head-Open Cable from the CPU Board.
5. Remove the Print Mechanism.
Remove the 3 M3 x 6mm screws and remove the Print Mechanism.
6. Lift the CPU Board and the Print Mechanism away from the Lower Housing
Installing the Print Mechanism & CPU Board(See figure on next page)
1. Install the Print Mechanism:
Insert the tab on the rear of the Print Mechanism into the slot on the Lower Housing
as shown. Carefully dress the wires from the Head-Up switch between the mounting
boss for the printer and the taller boss on the lower housing. Use care not to pinch
any wires between the printer Assembly and the mounting boss. Secure the Print
Mechanism with 3 Self-Tapping Screws.
You must use an ESD strap and work at a properly grounded
workstation (antistatic mat or tray). All electronic components must
be placed on an ESD protective tray. If stored, any electronic
components must be placed in antistatic bags.
Be careful not to damage the actuator on the head open switch
while working on the Cameo Chassis.
Caution: Use care when handling the Print Mechanism to avoid being cut on
the serrated edge of the Tear Bar.
