You must use an ESD strap and work at a properly grounded
workstation (antistatic mat or tray). All electronic components must
be placed on an ESD protective tray. If stored, any electronic
components must be placed in antistatic bags.
Be careful not to damage the actuator on the head open switch
while working on the Cameo Chassis.
Caution: The Tear Bar on the Printer Assembly has sharp edges. Use caution
when working near the printer.
Installing the SRRF Assembly (PCC digit 7 = 3, 4, or B)
NOTE: If you are installing a Bluetooth radio module for use in Japn, you must attach the
Bluetooth Japan Regulatory label (p/n AA17023-1) over the existing FCC ID label on the
radio module prior to installation.
1. Remove the Media. Turn the printer off, remove the battery, open the Media Cover,
and remove any media. Refer to the
Cameo Portable Printers User’s Manual
.
2. Remove the Top Cover. Remove the 2 Phillipps screws from the back of the printer
and remove the 2 Phillipps screws from the front of the printer. Refer to “Top Cover -
Cameo 2 and 3.”
3. Loosen the CPU board. Remove 2 screws and remove from retaining tabs. See
“CPU Board - Cameo 3.”
4. Plug the Antenna into the SRRF module.
Plug the Antenna into the antenna socket in the SRRF module. The antenna socket
is on the side of the SRRF module that does not have any connectors.
5. Plug the SRRF module into the CPU Board.
Plug the SRRF Assembly into the 8-pin SRRF1 connector on the bottom of the
CPU Board.
6. Install the Antenna
Insert the Antenna into the bottom edge of the Chassis, making sure that the
antenna lead is properly routed so
that it is not crimped when any other
component is installed.
7. Set the Symbol Compatibility
Switch and complete the system as
described in “CPU - Cameo 3.”
