Removing the Top Cover
Turn the printer off, remove the battery pack, open the media cover, remove the
media, remove the 4 screws (2 top and 2 on bottom as shown) that secure the
cover, and remove the cover.
Installing the Top Cover
1. Place the Top Cover on the Chassis and secure it with (2) M2.5 x 10 mm Self-
Tapping Screws on the top of the printer, and with 2 on the underside of the printer
in the recessed holes near the back of the Printer.
If you are assembling a unit with the 916 MHz SRRF option (PCC digit 7 = 3), insure
that the wire from the Antenna is not pinched between the top and bottom covers
and that the Antenna is captured between the two bosses at the rear of the top
cover.
If you are assembling a unit with the 2.4 GHz SRRF option (PCC digit 7 = 4), insure
that the Antenna is captured between the two bosses at the rear of the top cover.
2. After securing the top cover, replace the battery, load the printer with media and do a
two-key reset. Verify that all elements of the printhead are printing by inspecting the
line of inter locking “x” characters produced by the two-key reset report.
You must use an ESD strap and work at a properly grounded
workstation (antistatic mat or tray). All electronic components must
be placed on an ESD protective tray. If stored, any electronic
components must be placed in antistatic bags.
The Tear Strip on the Printhead Assembly is very sharp! Use care in
handling it. Always perform this procedure at a grounded
workstation to prevent static electricity from damaging electronic
components. Tools required: Small flat bladed screw driver.
Optional: tweezers.
