PRINT A CONFIGURATION LABEL
The printer can create a configuration label which exercises all of the printhead’s
thermal elements and creates a detailed report of the printer’s settings and any
special files that may be loaded into memory. This label can be used as an initial
tool to diagnose such basic printer problems as missing printhead elements,
missing or incorrect application files, or incorrect settings.
Printing a Configuration Label
1. Turn the printer off. Load the media compartment with journal media (media with
no black bars printed on the back)
2. Press and hold the Feed Button.
3. Press and release the Power button and keep the Feed button pressed. When
printing starts, release the Feed button.
The printer prints
• a line of interlocking “x” characters to insure that all elements of the printhead are work-
ing
• the version of software loaded in the printer
• a report that indicates model, ROM version, serial number, baud rate, etc.
• a report with more detailed information on the printer’s configuration and parameter
settings.
Note: If no second report appears, there is no application loaded.
