18. Reconnect the AC power cord.
19. Reload media and ribbon.
20. Perform a Cancel Key Self Test. To start the Cancel Key Self Test, press and hold
Cancel while turning the power On (l). The printer runs through a Power-On Self
Test and then prints the configuration label.
21. Inspect the label to determine if the main logic board recognizes the amount of
memory that was installed. If the label indicates “NOT INITIALIZED,” turn the printer
off, and run the test again (this is normal for the first time power up with the optional
memory).
22. Reinstall the rear cover, AC power cord, and data cable.
Important • Use full width media when performing the Cancel Key Self Test. Labels
less than full width lose printing on the right side. Printing may run on to the next label
when short labels.
Note • Refer to Figure 4-56 on page 4-66. This self test prints a listing of the printer’s
current configuration parameters that are currently stored in configuration (EEPROM)
memory.
Note • If the installed memory is still not recognized, turn the printer off, remove the
power cord, and repeat steps 5 through 7. Remove the memory board and reclean the
gold pads on J14 of the main logic board. Repeat steps 9 through 21.
