1. Turn the printer Off (O), and remove the AC power cord and data cable.
2. Remove media and ribbon.
3. Remove the main door and rear cover.
4. Remove the main logic board.
5. Remove the main drive belt.
6. Refer to Figure 4-48. Remove the screw, underneath the upper media guide
assembly, holding the stepper motor to the main frame.
7. Refer to Figure 4-49 on page 4-57. Disconnect the stepper motor cable (J1) from
the power supply board.
8. Carefully grasping the stepper motor, turn it counterclockwise and remove it from
the slots.
9. Reverse steps 6 through 8 to install the replacement stepper motor.
10. Replace the main drive belt and adjust the tension.
11. Replace the main logic board.
12. Replace the rear cover and main door.
13. Reload media and ribbon.
14. Reconnect the AC power cord and data cable. Turn the printer On (l), and test for
proper operation.
